Sylvester Stallone and the Klitschko brothers (Vladimir and Vitali) will work together on Rocky The Musical.
A spoeksman for Sylvester Stallone confirms that Rocky The Musical, is being developed for a German premiere in November 2012. The Hollywood icon is joining forces with the Klitschko brothers, Wladimir and Vitali, boxing champs, to produce the musical version of the iconic 1976 boxing film Rocky.
“I’ve always thought Rocky had the right stuff for a musical and have wanted to do it for a long time.”-Stallone said at a press conference in Hamburg yesterday (21.11.11).
As well as producing the Rocky The Musical, Vladimir and Vitali Klitschko (35,40) will train the lead actor to make his boxing skills more believable to the audience. Stallone will coach the individual who takes on the mantle of Rocky Balboa and will teach him how to move and act like the fictional fighter.
“I imagine I will be able to help the future star of the show to learn the body language of Rocky and to develop a feeling for the character. Boxers are always tense, always moving around, and each one has his own characteristics.”-the 65-year-old actor said.
Tony Award-winning songwriter Lynn Ahrens and composer Stephen Flaherty will write the musical score that will include the already tried-and-true musical favorites Eye of the Tiger and Gonna Fly Now. In addition to his starring role in Rocky, Sylvester Stallone directed five of the six installments in the massively successful film franchise that has grossed over $1.25 billion worldwide.

The boxing star will raise again: Rocky The Musical is in development with Stallone and Klitschko brothers as producers.
