That’s right ladies and gentlemen, with the economy in such a bad state and bills piling up even NBA stars are seeking employment. Delonte West from the Boston Celtics sent out a tweet regarding his job search. Apparently he had to swallow his pride and put in an application at Home Depot. This is why it’s so important to save up money and not live over your means. Delonte West reportedly earned over $14 million in the last seven seasons, yet he’s claiming to be broke and with a broke down car as he tweeted last week.
“It’s official.. Pride 2 the side.. just filled out a application at Home Depot.. Lockout aint a game..”
“Broke down in the ATM line.. 25 cars behind me and I already reached my daily limit… I’m broke n my cars broke.. Where’s my therapist???”
Delonte won’t be able to play over seas due to his arrest in 2009. He was pulled over and caught with 2 handguns, a shotgun and a knife. To make matters worse they were all loaded and he didn’t have a permit for any of them. With those type of charges I don’t think even Home Depot will be able to hire him. He’d be better off applying for a job at McDonalds or praying that one of his team mates will be able to hire him at one of their side businesses. How is it possible to make $14 million and not have made any smart investments for a rainy day?
West, if you remember had his name blown up in the media for supposedly sleeping with Lebron James mother while the two were still team mates.
