Cher Defends Her Son Chaz From DWTS Attacks, apparently there have been many blogs and message boards saying very disturbing things about Chaz Bono being the first transgendered contestant on “Dancing With The Stars.” As would any mother do, Cher automatically defends her son via Twitter (for now) and urges her fans to support her son during the season.
Cher tweets, “Chaz is Being Viciously Attacked on Blogs & Message boards about being on Dancing With The Stars! This is Still America right? It took guts 2 do it.”
Cher knows how the media can be and she has experienced her fair share of controversy. She continued on tweeting, “I support him no matter what he chooses 2do! God! will there always be haters! It took COURAGE 2 do dwts! TG Chaz has an Unlimited supply.”
Chaz replies via Twitter, “Thanks for all your support mom. The haters are just motivating me to work harder and stay on DWTS as long as I possibly can.”
Cher knows that her son is not a gifted dancer, but what she can say is that he is a hard worker. She knows that her son will prove all those negative people completely wrong and will do well on the show. She tweets, “Bet VAST MAJORITY of People will LOVE CHAZ and DWTS…Chaz isn’t exactly the ‘Gotta Dance Gotta Dance’ kinda Guy.”
People need to realize that it does not matter if the person is transgendered, gay, or straight; they have the right to participate in contests, shows, or whatever the event might be. This is not the 1940s in where everyone lives in a plastic bubble and have a narrow mind set. These so called “writers” need a reality check and realize what century they are living in.
Now that DWTS have a transgendered contest many fans are once again requesting to see same sex couples pairs. The producers have said that they voted and the conclusion was “no.” Due to ballroom dancing specifically requires a man and a woman to dance together. Producer Conrad Green said, “We’ve discussed such pairings in the past, but the traditional role in ballroom dancing is for men to have a female partner, so that’s what we’ll do.”This of course is a completely different topic that can be discussed at another time.
