While appearing on the Late Show With David Letterman Tuesday night, the interview icon referred to the time she spent with Kardashians and explained why she finds them fascinating:

Elizabeth Taylor’s jewelry collection fetched a record-setting $115 million, at an auction of gems and other memorabilia amassed by the late actress.

The pearl, diamond and ruby necklace, known as “La Peregrina,” purchased at auction for $37,000 in 1969 by Richard Burton for Elizabeth Taylor reached the world-record price of $11,842,500. It was estimated to sell for $2 million to $3 million. The price surpassed the previous auction record for a pearl, set in 2007 at Christie’s auction house in New York City with the sale of The Baroda Pearls for $7,096,000.

Among the other items of Elizabeth Taylor’s jewelry was a diamond bracelet given to her by late singer Michael Jackson, with an estimated sale price of $30,000 to $50,000. It sold for $194,500.

As a big jewelry lover, she had pieces from some of the most famous names in the jewelry world, including Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Chopard, in her collection.

Other sales of Taylor’s art, clothing and memorabilia will be held later in the week. An online-only sale of some items runs until Saturday (17.12.11). Part of the proceeds will go to The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, which she established in 1991 to help people living with AIDS. Tom Cruise wants to celebrate his 50th birthday next summer with a series of parties across the globe.The Hollywood star will mark the milestone in style by travelling around the world and hosting a number of birthday bashes for friends and family.

“I’m gonna be 50 on July 3 and I think we’ll have a big party. I’m gonna have a party in every country. I’m gonna go, ‘Look, I’m 50, man! Where’s my party?”-Tom Cruise told US TV show Extra.

While the Mission Impossible star is planning global birthday celebrations for his big 50, he also added that he will be actually on the set that day.

It has been confirmed, a big screen version of the mega popular series 24 is set to begin filming in April 2012. And of course Kiefer Sutherland will reprise his role as Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) agent Jack Bauer in the movie.

20th Century Fox are said to be hoping that writer Mark Bomback will sumbit a new screenplay next year, meaning they will be ready to start shooting the 24 movie in April 2012. The film version of the Fox’s long-running action drama has been in development since the end of 24’s eighth and final season last year. The 24 movie has been in the pipeline for the past few years, with Sutherland giving some hints about the plot of the in a previous interview:

“It’s going to be a two-hour representation of a 24 hour day, so we were not going to be restrained by the real time aspect of the TV show. This will be different – it will be very feasible to get from Eastern Europe to England in the course of 24 hours! And the crisis can be more personal – it doesn’t have to be a huge bomb, it doesn’t have to take out the rest of the world.  It’s very exciting!.”-the 44 year-old actor said.

Sheen's ex-wife Brooke Mueller arrested over cocaine possession and assault in Aspen

Brooke Mueller, the ex-wife of Charlie Sheen and mother of his twin sons, has been arrested on assault and drugs charges. At approximately 11:32 p.m. Friday (02.12.11), Aspen Police Department officers were doing a routine walk-through at Belly Up Aspen when a woman reported that an assault had taken place.

Police said a woman identified the culprit as Brooke Mueller, whom police found shortly after midnight at the dance club Escobar. In addition to booking Mueller on third-degree misdemeanor assault charges, police also charged the 34-year-old with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

“Mueller was arrested and charged with assault in the third degree and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.”-a spokesman for City of Aspen and Pitkin County Police said.

If the arrested Brooke Mueller is found guilty in the drug charge, she could face up to six years in prison. The mother of two was released after posting $11,000 bond and ordered to appear in Pitkin County District Court on December 19th.
